We are a digital travel magazine, website and social media platform promoting the best in travel and leisure. The Hotel Guide has evolved from a print publication to now a digital travel magazine. Our bi-monthly edition is direct emailed to a total of 24 Million travelers yearly, seen here at www.thehotelguide.com and also across our social media networks on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube. Our publication has been around since 1993 and founded in San Antonio, Texas.

Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in writing for The Hotel Guide. We are a bi-monthly publication and accept articles from writers of with experience in international and domestic travel, health and wellness, Family Travel, Group Travel, Food & Wine, International Travel, Retreats, Travel Guides, Cruising, Travel Tips, Solo Travel, and Romantic Travel.
Our Audience
Available by subscription and on our website The Hotel Guide reaches a national and international audience of 24,000,000, readers with an interest in travel. The magazine has a strong following among both travelers and travel companies. In addition, many of its readers pursue travel related careers.
What We Publish
We recommend that you read The Hotel Guide before sending us a query or an article for consideration. You may also visit our ARCHIVE LINK, which contains a selection of articles from past issues. Our editorial content is divided into the following four sections.
International & Domestic Travel: articles (1,500-2,500 words) that keep our interested in travel around the world.
Cruising: advice and how-to articles (1,500-2,500 words) that offer information for individuals, couples, and family cruising enthusiasts.
Family Travel: advice and how-to articles (1,500-2,500 words) that offer information about family friendly destinations and attractions for families. We also accept articles with an interest for families with disabilities.
Group Travel: advice and how-to articles (1,500-2,500 words) that offer information about group friendly destinations and attractions for business, corporate, and large groups.
Health and Wellness: articles (1,500-2,500 words) about health and wellness as it relates to travel.
Romantic Travel: advice and how-to articles (1,500-2,500 words) that offer information about romantic travel for couples. LGBT articles welcome.
Travel Guides: detailed guides (2,000-3,000 words) that highlight the best hotels, restaurants, shops, bars, and things to do in the world’s most exciting destinations.
Food & Wine: advice and how-to articles (1,500-2,500 words) that offer information and advice about domestic and international destinations that would attract food and wine lovers.
Features: profiles of and interviews with (2,000-3,000 words) travel bloggers, travel experts, travel businesses who reflect the rich diversity of current Domestic and International Travel. Other features include articles and essays (2,000-3,000 words), frequently grouped into special sections, that provide an in-depth look at subjects of interest to travelers, such as travel conferences and residencies, regional travel, and the distinctions of genre.

For those articles we publish, we own exclusive worldwide, periodical publication and syndication rights in all languages and non-exclusive reprint rights shared 50/50 thereafter.
Articles must be original and not previously published or posted in other magazines or on other websites.
If you plan to query us with a story proposal, please include two samples of your writing.
E-mail queries must be fully developed and must include two samples of your writing.
It usually takes four to six weeks for us to respond to your query or article.
We do not publish original fiction or poetry.
We do not publish book reviews.
We do not accept queries made over the phone.
Photography
If you are a professional photographer and would like to use your photographs in your articles please provide disclosure of ownership. If you are using a photo that is not your own, please provide proof of royalty free usage or attribution details. Submission of photo credits can be sent to [email protected]. No phone calls please.
