Bella Italia

As the editor in Chief of The Hotel Guide, I find myself in the most amazing parts of the world.

One of my favorite places is Italy and owning property there is a dream of mine.

For those of you who share that dream, here is a wonderful article by Nikki Taylor, who helps people realize their desires of becoming expats in bella Italia!

My kind of La Dolce Vita……

In the kind of work I do, I have so many people ask me where is my favourite part of Italy?

I always say “trying to decide between your favourite part of Italy is like trying to decide who is your favourite child” – virtually impossible!

Since moving to this beautiful country nearly 6 years ago I have had the privilege of seeing some of the most beautiful parts of Italy. I work in the both the real estate and holiday rentals industries and I created the industry’s first ever coaching course called “Purchase the Dream”, guiding overseas buyers how to confidently purchase property in Italy and create their own La Dolce Vita lifestyle.

Forbes magazine recently wrote that Italy is the #1 country worldwide right now for under market value properties in Italy. These sentiments are totally in alignment with my program “La Dolce Vita on a Shoestring” where I curate a handpicked list of the best under market value properties Italy has to offer; whether it be for personal use or for use as a Holiday Rental to generate a passive income.

When I first arrived in Italy I was living in the far north east on the Austrian border in a town called Bolzano; it is stunning like a postcard. Picture breath taking mountains, Austrian style architecture and hillside vineyards. Bolzano has been named numerous times as having the best quality of life in Italy.

But for me? My heart is in the far south in Puglia where I live. Being from Australia, I grew up by the beach and it is where I feel most connected in Italy.

If you have never been to Puglia let me describe it for you. Imagine hundreds of miles of crystal clear coastline, warm shallow water that feels like a warm bath, Baroque style architecture and whitewashed buildings that make you feel like you could be on a Greek island. A rustic red earth countryside, dotted with the famous iconic trulli houses, that you only find in Puglia.

My favourite part of Puglia is definitely Monopoli; a charming seaside town that is a total hotspot for tourism and the surrounding towns such as Ostuni, Polignano a Mare and the famous trulli town of Alberobello are definitely worth adding to the itinerary!

You will not be disappointed with Puglia, southern Italy’s shining jewel.
